Ingredients
  

  • 2 Italian hoagie rolls
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 6 slices Genoa salami
  • 6 slices capicola
  • 4 slices mortadella or ham
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 tomato sliced
  • 0.25 cup red onion thinly sliced
  • 0.25 cup banana peppers
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp red wine vinegar

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Oven or toaster oven
  • Knife

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C).
  2. Slice hoagie rolls lengthwise and place on baking sheet.
  3. Layer provolone cheese on bread and toast until melted.
  4. Add cured meats and return to oven briefly to warm.
  5. Top with lettuce, tomato, onion, and banana peppers.
  6. Drizzle with olive oil and vinegar, close, slice, and serve.

Best enjoyed fresh and hot for optimal texture.
