- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add egg, vanilla extract, blood orange juice, and zest. Mix until combined.
- Gradually mix in dry ingredients until a soft dough forms.
- Drop dough by tablespoons onto baking sheets, flatten slightly.
- Bake 12–14 minutes until edges are golden but centers are soft. Cool on wire racks.
- Optional: Mix powdered sugar, blood orange juice, and vanilla for glaze. Drizzle over cooled cookies.
Notes
Use fresh blood oranges for best flavor. Dough can be chilled for thicker cookies.
