Brownie Base
  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar packed
  • 3 eggs large
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 0.75 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cup dark chocolate chips
Pecan Pie Layer
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar packed
  • 3 eggs large
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups pecan halves

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • 9-inch pie dish

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9-inch pie dish.
  2. Prepare brownie batter and spread into dish.
  3. Whisk together pecan filling ingredients.
  4. Pour pecan mixture over brownie base.
  5. Bake 45–55 minutes until set with slight center jiggle.
  6. Cool completely before slicing.

Notes

For cleaner slices, chill before serving. Toast pecans for enhanced flavor.
