Ingredients
  

Main Dish
  • 14 oz smoked sausage sliced
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice uncooked
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • salt and black pepper to taste

  • Large skillet with lid
  • Wooden spoon

Method
 

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and brown the sliced sausage. Remove and set aside.
  2. Add butter and garlic to the skillet and sauté until fragrant.
  3. Stir in rice and Cajun seasoning, coating the grains evenly.
  4. Pour in chicken broth and return sausage to the pan.
  5. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover, and simmer until rice is tender.
  6. Drizzle honey over the dish and stir gently to glaze.
  7. Cook uncovered briefly until glossy, season to taste, and serve.

Notes

Adjust Cajun seasoning to control spice level.
