Ingredients
  

Chow Mein
  • 8 oz chow mein noodles
  • 1 lb chicken breast thinly sliced
  • 2 cups green cabbage shredded
  • 1 cup carrots julienned
  • 3 tbsp oil divided
Chow Mein Sauce
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth

Equipment

  • Wok or Large Skillet
  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk
  • Knife and cutting board

Method
 

  1. Cook chow mein noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Whisk together all chow mein sauce ingredients in a bowl and set aside.
  3. Heat oil in a wok over high heat. Cook chicken until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  4. Add remaining oil, then stir-fry vegetables until just tender.
  5. Return chicken to the pan, add noodles and sauce. Toss until sauce thickens and coats noodles.
  6. Remove from heat, garnish with green onions, and serve hot.

Notes

Serve immediately for best texture.
