Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 3.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp instant yeast
  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.75 cup whole milk warm
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 egg large
Filling
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon

Method
 

  1. Combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast; let foam.
  2. Mix in butter, egg, salt, and flour to form dough.
  3. Knead until smooth; let rise until doubled.
  4. Divide dough into four circles and layer with cinnamon filling.
  5. Cut and twist dough to form star shape.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 22–25 minutes.

Notes

Serve warm and dust with powdered sugar for best results.
