Ingredients
  

Cookie Dough
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 0.5 cup powdered sugar plus more for coating
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 0.75 cup pecans or walnuts finely chopped

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add flour and salt until dough forms.
  5. Fold in chopped nuts.
  6. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on baking sheets.
  7. Bake 12–14 minutes until bottoms are lightly golden.
  8. Roll warm cookies in powdered sugar, cool completely, then roll again.

Notes

Roll cookies twice in powdered sugar for the best snowy coating.
