- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line cake pans.
- Whisk together dry ingredients in a bowl.
- Cream butter and sugars until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla.
- Alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk.
- Fold in toffee bits and divide batter into pans.
- Bake 25–30 minutes. Cool completely.
- Prepare frosting and assemble cake with toffee layers.
