Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 3.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2.25 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup milk warm
  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 egg large
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup raisins
Cinnamon Swirl
  • 0.33 cup granulated sugar
  • 1.5 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp butter melted

Method
 

  1. Activate yeast in warm milk and sugar until foamy.
  2. Mix flour and salt, add yeast mixture, egg, and butter to form dough.
  3. Knead until smooth and elastic.
  4. Incorporate raisins evenly.
  5. Let dough rise until doubled in size.
  6. Roll out dough, add butter and cinnamon sugar.
  7. Roll tightly, place in loaf pan, and let rise again.
  8. Bake at 350°F for 35–40 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

For extra plump raisins, soak in warm water for 10 minutes before mixing into dough.
