Ingredients
  

Pastry
  • 2 sheets puff pastry thawed
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 0.33 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 cup cherry pie filling
  • 1 egg for egg wash

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out puff pastry and cut into squares or rectangles.
  3. Beat cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and egg yolk until smooth.
  4. Score a border around each pastry and fill centers with cream cheese mixture.
  5. Top with cherry filling and brush edges with egg wash.
  6. Bake 18–22 minutes until puffed and golden.
  7. Cool slightly on a wire rack before serving.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature. Optional powdered sugar glaze can be added after cooling.
