Ingredients
  

Mushrooms
  • 1 lb button mushrooms cleaned and dried
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs large
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1.5 cups breadcrumbs seasoned or panko
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt divided
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • vegetable oil for frying

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Baking sheet
  • Wire rack
  • Hand mixer or stand mixer

Method
 

  1. Clean and dry mushrooms thoroughly.
  2. Prepare flour mixture with salt and spices.
  3. Whisk eggs with milk.
  4. Season breadcrumbs in separate bowl.
  5. Coat mushrooms in flour, egg, then breadcrumbs.
  6. Heat oil to 350°F.
  7. Fry in batches 3–4 minutes until golden.
  8. Drain and serve hot.

Notes

For extra crunch, double coat mushrooms. Best served immediately.
