- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Whisk melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until glossy.
- Sift in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Fold gently until combined.
- Stir in chocolate chips if using.
- Spread batter evenly in prepared pan.
- Bake 23–27 minutes until the center is just set.
- Cool completely before slicing and serving.
Notes
Do not overbake for the fudgiest texture.
