Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 large boneless, skinless chicken breast about 8-10 oz
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries or frozen, thawed
  • 1.5 cups plain non-fat Greek yogurt
  • 0.25 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 0.5 cup reserved plain chicken broth from cooking
  • extra blueberries optional, for garnish

Equipment

  • Medium Saucepan
  • Blender or Food Processor
  • Fine-Mesh Strainer
  • Mixing bowls
  • Silicone Pup Pop Molds

Method

  1. Cook the chicken breast in boiling water until no longer pink, 12-15 mins. Reserve ½ cup plain broth. Shred chicken finely.
  2. In a blender, combine shredded chicken, 1 cup blueberries, yogurt, oats, and ½ cup cooled broth. Blend until completely smooth.
  3. For smoother texture, strain mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a bowl, pressing with a spatula.
  4. Pour or spoon mixture into silicone pup pop molds. Tap to remove bubbles. Optional: Press a whole blueberry into each.
  5. Freeze until completely solid, at least 4-6 hours, preferably overnight.
  6. To serve, pop out of mold. Give directly or in a bowl. Always supervise your dog. Store extras in a sealed container in freezer.

Notes

Always consult your vet before introducing new foods. Treats should be less than 10% of daily diet. Use only plain, xylitol-free yogurt.
