- In a medium saucepan, combine the orange juice, orange zest, sugar, cinnamon stick, and salt. Heat over medium heat, stirring, until the sugar dissolves (about 3-4 minutes).
- Add the cranberries to the saucepan and stir. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer.
- Simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until most cranberries have burst and the sauce has thickened.
- Remove from heat and discard the cinnamon stick. Stir in the Grand Marnier.
- Return to heat for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and let cool. The sauce will thicken further as it cools.
Notes
Sauce can be made up to 5 days ahead. Store covered in the refrigerator. Flavors improve overnight.
