- Rinse cranberries and remove any stems. Set aside.
- In a saucepan, combine granulated sugar, brown sugar, and water. Heat until sugar dissolves and mixture begins to simmer.
- Add cranberries, orange zest, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and salt. Stir well.
- Reduce heat and simmer 10–12 minutes until cranberries pop and sauce thickens.
- Stir in orange juice and Grand Marnier. Continue cooking 5–7 minutes until sauce reaches desired consistency.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- Optional: Fold in toasted nuts for crunch.
- Cool to room temperature, then chill for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
For a thicker sauce, simmer longer. For a smoother sauce, blend with an immersion blender.
