Ingredients

Chicken
  • 2 breasts boneless skinless chicken
  • 2 pieces jalapeños sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 piece lime juice
  • 1/4 cup cilantro fresh, chopped
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream optional
  • 1 tbsp honey optional

Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Knife
  • Cutting board
  • Tongs

Method

  1. Trim excess fat from the chicken breasts. Season with salt, black pepper, cumin, paprika, and chili powder.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken for 6-7 minutes on each side until golden and cooked through. Set aside.
  3. Melt butter in the same skillet. Add jalapeños and garlic. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened.
  4. Add chicken broth, lime juice, and simmer for 3-4 minutes. Add heavy cream for a creamier sauce if desired.
  5. Return chicken to the skillet, spoon sauce over it, and cook for another 3-4 minutes.
  6. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with rice or vegetables.

Notes

Adjust the heat by removing seeds from the jalapeños for a milder flavor. You can substitute the cream with coconut milk for a dairy-free version.
