Ingredients
  

Cookie Dough
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp baking soda
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp matcha powder culinary grade
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 egg large
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp milk
Coating
  • 0.75 cup powdered sugar for rolling

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and matcha powder in a bowl.
  3. Cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Gradually mix in dry ingredients, alternating with milk, until dough forms.
  6. Chill dough for 30 minutes.
  7. Roll dough into balls and coat generously in powdered sugar.
  8. Bake 11–13 minutes until cracked and set. Cool on wire rack.

Notes

For best color and flavor, use fresh culinary-grade matcha and avoid overbaking.
