Ingredients
  

Mozzarella Sticks
  • 12 sticks mozzarella string cheese halved
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup cooked bacon chopped
Nashville Hot Sauce
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tbsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Frying pan or deep fryer
  • Wire rack
  • Tongs

Method
 

  1. Freeze mozzarella pieces for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Set up flour, egg, and breadcrumb stations.
  3. Bread mozzarella sticks twice and freeze again.
  4. Fry at 350°F until golden and crisp.
  5. Mix Nashville hot sauce ingredients.
  6. Brush sauce over hot mozzarella sticks and serve.

Notes

Freeze twice for best results and adjust cayenne to taste.
