Ingredients
  

Mozzarella Sticks
  • 12 mozzarella string cheese sticks
  • 12 slices thin bacon
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs large
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1.5 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
Nashville Hot Sauce
  • 0.5 cup melted butter
  • 2 tbsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp hot sauce

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls

Method
 

  1. Wrap mozzarella sticks tightly with bacon and freeze 45-60 minutes.
  2. Prepare breading station with flour, egg mixture, and seasoned breadcrumbs.
  3. Coat sticks in flour, egg, and breadcrumbs. Repeat for double coating.
  4. Freeze again 15-20 minutes before frying.
  5. Heat oil to 350°F and fry 2-3 minutes until crispy.
  6. Whisk Nashville hot sauce ingredients together.
  7. Brush hot sauce over warm sticks and serve immediately.

Notes

Freeze twice for best results. Adjust cayenne for desired spice level.
