No-Oven Stovetop Bread

Ingredients
  

Bread Dough
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 cup yogurt plain
  • 0.5 cup milk room temperature
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or melted butter

Method
 

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together yogurt, milk, and olive oil until smooth.
  3. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry mixture until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead gently on a floured surface for 3–5 minutes.
  5. Divide dough into 4 portions and shape each into a flat round about 1 inch thick.
  6. Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium-low heat and lightly grease.
  7. Cook each dough portion for 8–10 minutes per side, covering initially, then uncover for the last 2 minutes.
  8. Remove from pan, cool on wire rack, and serve.

Notes

Optional: add herbs or cheese for extra flavor.
