Ingredients
  

Nutella Filled French Toast
  • 8 slices thick bread (brioche or challah)
  • 1 cup Nutella
  • 4 eggs large
  • 1 cup milk whole milk or half-and-half
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 tbsp butter for cooking
  • powdered sugar for topping
  • fresh berries optional
  • maple syrup optional

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Baking sheet
  • Wire rack
  • Hand mixer or stand mixer

Method
 

  1. Cut 8 slices of thick bread (brioche or challah). Toast lightly if too fresh.
  2. Spread Nutella on 4 slices of bread.
  3. Top with remaining bread slices to form 4 sandwiches.
  4. Whisk eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt in a shallow bowl.
  5. Dip each sandwich into the mixture for 10–15 seconds per side.
  6. Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt 1 tbsp butter.
  7. Cook sandwiches 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  8. Dust with powdered sugar, add berries or syrup, and serve immediately.

Notes

Use thick bread to prevent sogginess. Let cool for 1 minute before cutting to keep Nutella inside.
