Ingredients
  

Cookie Dough
  • 2.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp baking soda
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 oz strawberry gelatin powder
  • 1 egg large
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar for rolling
  • 30 chocolate kiss candies unwrapped

Equipment

  • Hand mixer or stand mixer

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add gelatin powder and mix.
  4. Beat in egg and vanilla. Add milk and mix.
  5. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until dough forms.
  6. Roll into balls, coat in sugar, and place on baking sheets.
  7. Bake 9–11 minutes. Press chocolate kiss into center immediately after baking.
  8. Cool completely on wire rack before serving.

Notes

Do not overbake for soft centers. Chill dough if needed to prevent spreading.
