Ingredients
  

Bread Dough
  • 3.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2.25 tsp active dry yeast
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 egg large
  • 1 tsp salt
Garlic Herb Filling
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped
  • 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.5 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Method
 

  1. Activate yeast in warm milk with sugar until foamy.
  2. Mix in butter, egg, salt, and flour to form dough.
  3. Knead dough until smooth and let rise until doubled.
  4. Roll dough into rectangle and spread garlic herb butter.
  5. Sprinkle evenly with cheeses and roll tightly.
  6. Slice lengthwise, twist halves together, and place in pan.
  7. Let rise again, then bake until golden and cooked through.

Notes

Use freshly shredded cheese for best melt and defined swirls.
