Ingredients
  

Sandwich
  • 2 cups sliced mushrooms
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 4 slices bread sourdough or rye
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic minced

Equipment

  • Spatula

Method
 

  1. Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add mushrooms and cook until golden and tender. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic.
  3. Butter one side of each bread slice.
  4. Assemble sandwich with Swiss cheese, mushrooms, and more cheese.
  5. Cook in skillet over medium-low heat until golden on both sides and cheese is melted.

Notes

Use low heat for best cheese melt and mushroom flavor.
