Volcano Roll – Baked Sushi

Ingredients
  

Sushi Rice
  • 2 cups sushi rice
  • 2.5 cups water
  • 3 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
Volcano Topping
  • 1 cup imitation crab shredded
  • 1 cup cooked shrimp chopped
  • 3 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp sriracha
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
Assembly
  • 4 sheets nori
  • 1 avocado sliced
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Baking sheet
  • Wire rack
  • Hand mixer or stand mixer

Method
 

  1. Cook sushi rice and season with vinegar mixture.
  2. Mix crab, shrimp, mayo, sriracha, soy sauce, and sesame oil.
  3. Spread rice over nori and add avocado.
  4. Roll tightly and slice.
  5. Top with seafood mixture.
  6. Bake at 400°F for 10–12 minutes and broil briefly.

Notes

Adjust spice level to preference. Best served warm.
